Avocado Diet?
A Delicious Way To Get
A Flat Stomach
by Dr. Kareem F. Samhouri

Here are three surprising
facts about food:

FACT #1: Fat is good for you (in some cases.)
FACT #2: Calories don't matter; nutrient quality does.
FACT #3: Adjust the 'ratio' and eat many of your favorite foods.

Somehow, restaurants started serving food with the wrong ratios... probably to save money on meats and other proteins. The goal, from their standpoint, is to maximize profit and taste. So, they make sure to add lots of butter and salt (without typically caring about the source), reverse the ratios of carbs to proteins to fats, and fill you up on belly-inflating carbs.

Makes sense, but that's not in alignment with your goals. So, let's take a step back, examine a typical restaurant dish, and what you can do about it to make it much healthier:

The Chicken Quesadilla

Typical ingredients: Chicken, 2 flour tortillas, mixed shredded cheese, bell pepper, onion, cilantro, seasoning, salsa, jalapeƱo

Ingredient modifications for a flat stomach: Organic chicken (if available), double portion of chicken, no (or corn) tortillas, grassfed cheddar cheese and/or feta cheese, pico de gallo (instead of salsa), add guacamole

Pretty simple, right?

In most cases, you can at least double the chicken portion and sub in a corn tortilla or eliminate tortillas altogether. And by simply adding guacamole, which adds TONS of fat to your dish, you will be eating much healthier, and your quesadilla will keep you full for longer.

But, why guacamole?

You see, guacamole is made from avocado, which is a naturally occurring form of fruit that contains especially high levels of fat (and fiber, which will help with digestion.) Because it's not trans fat -- which would be dangerous and cause lots of inflammation -- it serves as a "super ingredient" for us, to balance out the ratio of carbs:proteins:fats in this dish. Without the guacamole, even with the double chicken, we'd have an unbalanced meal.

Plus, if you decided to add corn tortillas, you've increased the carb portion of this dish, so you can balance out with a bit of extra chicken, and a bit of extra guacamole.

I suspect this is challenging the way you think about food, or eating in general. Instead of solely focusing on 'what' you eat, you may want to focus on the ratios; you'll find it's a faster path to a flat stomach (and much more delicious!). On the next page, we'll go over the rest of what it takes to get a flatter stomach within the next 14 days (in 15 minutes or less per day):
